Dr. Esther MeininghausBiography
Esther Meininghaus is a political anthropologist researching negotiations of power with particular emphasis on Syria. In her work, she focuses on peace processes and resistance, humanitarian aid, displacement and disappearances in autocracies. She is a senior researcher at BICC, which is an independent peace and conflict research institute in Germany. With a background in Middle Eastern Studies, she completed her MA at University of Bonn (2007) and her PhD at the University of Manchester (2013). She also teaches at the University of Bonn.
