Prof. David HotchkissBiography
David Hotchkiss is a professor at Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Trained as a health economist, his current research focuses on the evaluation of health systems strengthening strategies in low- and middle-income countries including: health care fincing mechanisms; health workforce strategies; and routine health information systems. He has also led studies of: socio-economic inequities in health outcomes and health care utilization; demand for health care; and child marriage and reproductive health. Hotchkiss has served as a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, USAID, UNICEF, and the United tions Population Fund. He teaches Intertiol Health Policy, and Health Economics for Developing Countries. Prior to joining the faculty at Tulane, he was a research associate at the Intertiol Food Policy Research Institute and a pre-doctoral trainee at University of North Caroli's Caroli Population Center.
