Prof. Brij MohanBiography
Professor Brij Mohan, Dean Emeritus, School of Social Work, Louisiana State University, USA, is an internationally renowned master teacher, author, editor, administrator, social philosopher and intellectual who has 23 books and over 400 articles, paper, and reviews to his credit. He earned an MSW in 1960 and Ph.D. in Social Work (Lucknow University) in 1964. He taught at Lucknow University and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh before joining Louisiana State University in 1976. He was promoted to full professor, and deanship, in 1981.
Dr Mohan has earned numerous awards and honors that distinguish him as one of the most prolific intellectuals in the world. He was awarded Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith for his original contributions to social sciences. LSU Foundation established an endowed Brij Mohan Distinguished Professor Award to an eminent professor who has emulated his work to achieving social justice. His university honored him with Dean Emeritus status at his retire

Areas of his special interest generally range within a freedom-unfreedom spectrum with emphasis on social and public policy, welfare, oppression, international development, theory and practice.
