University educated Arabist (Saint-Petersburg State University, Master and Bachelor diplomas with honors) with extensive teaching practice, large-scale experience in translating and interpreting, unique research training including a vast amount of fieldwork. The topic of my Ph.D. thesis was “The folk culture of modern Tunisia: tradition in the age of modernization”. I have participated in Saint-Petersburg State University academic life since 2013, first as a Ph.D. Candidate, then as an Assistant Professor. My sphere of expertise is the social anthropology of the Arab World in general and the Maghreb in particular. My research interests are broad and include numerous themes within the traditiol culture of the region and its modern forms of expression: from folklore and magic to gender studies.
